The Doorway of Death

  • Romans 8:1

  • Hebrews 12:23

  • Romans 8:20–21

  • Genesis 3:17–19

Devotional Thought:

Death is not a punishment for those in Christ—it’s a doorway to glory. We live in a broken world where decay affects all things, but Jesus has freed us from condemnation. Our sanctification—the long journey of becoming more like Jesus—doesn’t end with our last breath. At death, it reaches its completion. That final step is called glorification: the soul perfected, forever in God’s presence.

Though we grieve, we do so with hope. Death may feel like an end, but for the believer, it’s a divine beginning.

Self-Reflection Question:

Do I live with the quiet confidence that my death is not the end but the beginning of eternal life with Jesus?

Absent from the Body, Present with the Lord

  • 2 Corinthians 5:8

  • Hebrews 2:14–15

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14

  • John 11:25–26

Devotional Thought:

What happens the moment a Christian dies? Scripture says the body remains, but the soul is instantly with the Lord. There’s no limbo, no delay. Jesus personally broke the fear and power of death. And if He has gone to prepare a place for us, He will surely bring us there.

Self-Reflection Question:

Do I have peace about what will happen to me when I die—or am I still holding onto fear?

The Urgency of Eternity

  • Matthew 7:13–14

  • Matthew 25:31–46

  • Luke 16:19–31

  • Revelation 20:12

Devotional Thought:

Jesus made it clear: not everyone will enter heaven. It’s a narrow road, and not everyone takes it. Many live by the “Good Person Plan” or the “Why Worry Plan”—assuming goodness or indifference will get them into paradise. But eternity is not based on moral averages or wishful thinking.

Hell is real, and Jesus never shied away from saying so. There are no second chances after death. That makes today urgent—not just for you, but for your family and friends.

Self-Reflection Question:

Who in my life do I need to speak to about Jesus—before it’s too late?

Resurrection and New Bodies

  • 1 Corinthians 15:51–52

  • Romans 8:23–24

  • Philippians 3:20–21

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

Devotional Thought:

At Jesus’ return, our souls will be reunited with glorified bodies—perfect, immortal, and untouched by sin or decay. Imagine never feeling pain, fear, or fatigue again. Imagine a body that never breaks down, never grows old, never dies. This isn’t fiction or wishful thinking. It’s God’s promise.

And if we’re still alive when Christ returns? We’ll be changed instantly. Either way, every believer is guaranteed a glorious, resurrected future.

Self-Reflection Question:

Do I long for the return of Christ and the fullness of the resurrection life He promises?

What Will Happen to You?

  • John 5:28–29

  • Revelation 21:1–5

  • Romans 10:9–13

  • Psalm 139:23–24

Devotional Thought:

One day, all the dead will rise. For some, it will be a resurrection to life. For others, a resurrection to judgment. Everyone spends eternity somewhere. The question is not whether you will live forever—the question is where.

If you’ve placed your faith in Jesus, your eternity is secure. But if you’re unsure, today is the day to decide. There is no greater urgency than eternity. Don’t delay what matters most.

Self-Reflection Question:

Am I truly trusting in Christ alone for my salvation—or am I hoping I’ve just “been good enough”?
